Why aerate here
Why Park City lawns need it
Mountain soil here is dry and packs down hard. Mowing, foot traffic and a winter of snow load press it tighter every year.
When soil is packed, water runs off instead of soaking in. Roots stay shallow. The lawn browns out fast in July, even with sprinklers running.
Core aeration pulls small plugs of soil out of the lawn. That opens space for air, water and fertilizer to get down to the roots. Roots grow deeper, and the lawn holds up better to heat and dry spells.

Questions
Aeration FAQ
How often should I aerate my lawn?
Once a year is right for most Park City lawns. Lawns that get heavy use, or soil that is packed very hard, do well with aeration twice a year, once in spring and once in fall.
Is spring or fall better for aeration in Park City?
Both work. Fall is usually the better pick here. The soil is still warm, the air is cooler, and the grass has weeks to grow new roots before snow. It is also the only season we offer the aeration plus fertilizer package. Spring is a good choice once the ground has thawed and dried out enough to walk on without squishing. Read our guide to timing.
Do I need to be home?
No. We text you your neighborhood's aeration day about a week ahead. Make sure gates are unlocked and pets are inside. We text you and send the invoice when we are done.
What do I do with the plugs?
Nothing. Leave the cores on the lawn. They break down with watering and mowing, usually within a couple of weeks, and the soil goes back into the lawn.
What about my sprinkler heads?
We flag the sprinkler heads we can find before we start, and we work around them. If you have anything buried shallow that we cannot see, like a pet fence wire, low drip line or a valve box, tell us when you book or mark it before your day.
Can I mow after aeration?
Yes. You can mow on your normal schedule. Mowing actually helps break up the cores faster. Keep watering as usual too.
How big is "most lawns"?
Our $155 price covers lawns up to about 6,000 sq ft of grass. That is the grass only, not the whole lot. For a sense of size, 6,000 sq ft is about 60 feet by 100 feet. If your lawn is bigger or you have acreage, text us your address and we will price it from the map.
Do you overseed?
No. We don't offer overseeding. We focus on core aeration, plus fertilizer as an add-on.
