Aeration for Sun Peak lawns

Sun Peak is a residential neighborhood in the Snyderville Basin with trails close by. If you are trying to decide whether to aerate in spring or fall, here is a simple way to think about it.

Spring or fall in Sun Peak?

Choose fall if you only want to aerate once a year. Late August through October is the best window in our area. The soil is warm, the air is cool, and the lawn has time to recover before snow. You can add fertilizer for $195 total.

Choose spring if your lawn came out of winter matted and thin, or if you missed the fall window. We aerate in April and May, once the ground has thawed and dried out. Spring aeration is $155.

Choose both if your lawn gets heavy use or the soil is packed very hard.

What happens on aeration day

We text you about a week ahead with the Sun Peak aeration day. Water the lawn the day before. On the day, we flag the sprinkler heads, run the aerator over the grass and leave the cores on the lawn. They look like small dirt plugs and break down on their own.

When we finish, we text you and send the invoice. You do not need to be home.

After aeration

  • Mow and water on your normal schedule
  • Leave the cores where they fall
  • The lawn is fine for kids and pets right away
